This is the 7th Year I have run a Summer Youth Filmmaking project in partnership with the National Archives.

We started back in 2016 and made the following films:

  • 2016 - Somme Tales
  • 2017 - Suffragette Tales
  • 2018 - Hidden History
  • 2019 - Mental Health on Record
  • 2020 - From Outbreak to Archive (on Zoom)
  • 2021 - Rebels in the Records (on Zoom)

This year the theme was LGBTQ+ history in the UK.

The project is run like a mini film school and gives young people between the ages of 16 and 19 the opportunity to explore records at the National Archives in Kew and to learn all aspects of short film making.
